JOYFUL NEWS - Monday night we greeted Mohamad at the airport as he arrived to start his new life in Canada. He has not seen his friend and sponsor in 11 years – there were definitely tears. It was bittersweet, since his family is still in Lebanon. Mohamad is trained as a cook, and his sponsor, also called Mohamad, will put him to work at the restaurant he manages as soon as he is ready. He said he wants to learn English and was very grateful to us for preparing for his arrival. He also said “we made him feel like he has family in Canada”. Doesn’t that tug at your heart strings? His sponsor has become a Canadian citizen and is very determined and I am sure he will guide Mohamad along the same path. Thank-you for your continued support and prayers for these refugees. See attached picture of Mohamad’s arrival.

CategoriesBOTTLE DRIVE - the parish supports our refugees through various means, one of those being an on-going bottle drive. If you have bottles, cans, etc. you'd like to donate, you can drop them off at Hampton Recycling, located at 401 William Bell Dr. in Hampton. Let them know the returnables are for Blessed Trinity Parish and the recycling centre will send all monies raised to our office. |
