CONFIRMATION PREPARATION
St. Alphonsus and St. Anthony’s Parishes prepare candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Youth in grades 8 and older are invited to join us and confirm their faith in Jesus Christ through the Holy Catholic Church.
Each of the youth choose a ministry within our parish to participate in during the year. There are many options, including:
· Altar Servers
· Lectors
· Announcements
· Arts & Environment (decorating church space)
· Music (choir)
· Hospitality (Greeters & Collection)
· Maintenance
· Reading Intercessory Prayers
· Any other area the youth may be interested in
Sessions will typically be held weekly at St. Alphonsus Church. Each candidate will bring a recent photo and a short paragraph about themselves to the first session, to be used throughout our program. A copy of the candidate’s baptismal certificate must be provided if they were not baptized at St. Alphonsus Church.
We are also looking for catechists to help with preparing and participating in the various sessions. Please consider giving your time to help support our young people as they make this journey towards Confirmation.
All youth are required to have a sponsor (not a parent) who is willing and able to participate in the sessions.
