REFUGEE UPDATE AND COLLECTION OF TOOLS AND SEWING BITS AND BOBS PLUS CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS etc.- Mohamad moved into his new apartment last weekend and is very excited to really begin his new life in Canada. He continues to work as assistant cook at the House of Chan in Milledgeville. He started English classes on Monday and is very eager to speak English with everyone.
We are collecting tools and sewing bits and bobs to make tool kits and sewing kits for the Newcomers. Enough to be able to hang a picture, tighten a table leg, sew a button on or hem some pants. If you find you have extras in your own tool/sewing box, we will gladly take them to put together some kits for the Newcomers. Also, we will be distributing donated Christmas decorations to the Newcomers we have helped over the past 6 months on November 12th. The Ukrainians, Eritreans and Filipinos are all very faithful people and are very excited about Christmas coming. If you are purging your own decorations, please bring to the ramp door between noon and 5 on Friday, November 11th. We will also find a home for any extra crucifixes and religious pictures or ornaments you might have.
